Samir Dattani didn’t get the chance to think of any other career save for acting. That’s because he made his debut on the small screen at the age of six when he appeared in a TV commercial and went on to do his first music video at the age of 17 and at age 18, made his debut in a South Indian film.

He did an acting course with Kishore Namit Kapoor to hone his skills as an actor. But he believes, "Acting is such a profession where you get to learn everyday," says Samir, who will soon be seen in Shashi Ranjan’s Dhoom Dhadaka.

"The film is a complete comedy. I play a young boy from Mumbai who wants to make a quick buck. I go to Bangkok and plan to con Anupam Kher but I later realise that Anupam is a don himself! The film has a lot of actors and we all had a blast shooting. Shashi Ranjan is a great mimic and he used to imitate all of us and it was a very chilled out and relaxed atmosphere on the sets," he elaborates.

Samir is also doing Mani Shankar’s Mukhbir and Rajan Wagdhare’s Love Ka Tadka after going through a lean phase in his short career. "I am very happy with the offers coming my way. The beginning of my career was definitely slow, but after 2008 there is definitely going to be a lot of growth," he says optimistically.

Like any other actor, Samir But when it comes to actors, he dreams of working with the one and only, Amitabh Bachchan. "I would love to work with Amitabh Bachchan. He is such a legend. It would be wonderful to work with him," he says.
